Following directives from FDEP, all volunteer activity has been suspended at the park including ongoing research. However, paid park staff continue to function. They are continuing to collect daily water samples for Sean McGlynn and taking weekly Secchi disc readings of visibility depth thereby preventing a lapse in collecting information on conditions at the spring. Meanwhile, the USGS automated multi-functional gauge located on the boat dock continues to operate.

Park staff are running one boat a day along the river tour route to keep the boats tuned up and the wildlife accustomed to the boat traffic. They also are conducting the weekly wildlife survey thereby maintaining that very important long-term data set.
