The WSA Board will meet Friday, February 12, at 9:00 am via Zoom to discuss follow up action to our January 28 letter to Wakulla County Administrator David Edwards regarding the county’s plan to construct a rapid infiltration basin (RIB) to dispose of treated wastewater effluent from the Otter Creek wastewater treatment facility on a site within the Wakulla Spring Priority Focus Area. Subsequent discussions with Mr. Edwards have provided clarification on the county’s approach to and findings from searching for suitable sites for the RIB. Mr. Edwards also has provided new information on the county’s initiative to explore adding a constructed wetland to provide “effluent finishing” prior to discharge to the RIB.
